2024 Virginia State Fair
Our string survived yet another hurricane at State Fair this year and came home with a number of awards. Trey placed 3rd overall in the State Jr. Dairymen's contest and was on the 6th place overall junior team. Trey won Overall Supreme Champion Showman and Grand Champion Brown Swiss and Supreme Champion of the show with Twist.
Rockingham County 4-H

Trey was on the Junior Dairy Bowl team that placed 1st at the 2024 contest.

At the 2024 State 4-H Dairy Judging Contest, Trey placed 7th individual overall, 2nd individual reasons, and was on the 1st place team overall and reasons.

Trey placed 1st individual and was on the 10th place junior team in the 2023 Dairy Skillathon contest.
2024 All-American Dairy Show
This year at the All-American Dairy Show and the Premier National Junior Show Trey exhibited 3 of his heifers as well as Twist. The whole family also celebrated Steve Cornman for being awarded the Obie Schnieder Award.
2024 Rockingham County Fair
This year was very successful for Trey and his assortment of animals. On the dairy side, Trey won Supreme Junior Champion with Tapioca and placed first in dairy showmanship. This was the second year for dairy feeder steers at the fair and Trey placed second in dairy steer showmanship. Outside of dairy, Trey won Intermediate Chicken Showmanship and exhibited a market hog.
2024 Virginia Summer Showdown
We had a very successful showing at this years Virginia Summer Showdown. Trey's calf Tapioca won Junior Champion Brown Swiss Youth and his heifer Twizzler won Best Bred and Owned Youth Brown Swiss Heifer. Hayley's calf She-Ra won Reserve Junior Champion Red and White Youth and her calf Salute won Best Bred and Owned Youth Red and White Heifer. In the Holstein cow show, Karla and Peacock both won their classes.
2024 National Holstein Convention
We had a lot of fun in Salt Lake City, UT. Trey went on the junior tour to the American Ninja Warrior gym and had fun trying out the obstacle course. He also participated in the junior prepared public speaking contest. Hayley was recognized as a National Distinguished Junior Member Semifinalist. She also competed in the intermediate dairy jeopardy contest and designed the winning state digital scrapbook. On the way home, we drove to sightsee through the Black Hills in South Dakota to see sights like Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park and the Badlands National Park.
2024 Mid-Atlantic Brown Swiss Invitational Show
Trey and Jeremy took 5 of our Brown Swiss heifers to Maryland just before leaving to attend National Holstein Convention in Utah. Tapioca placed 4th in the winter calf class.
2024 Show Like A Pro Workshop
Trey learned a lot this year at Show Like A Pro with Hayley's fall calf Salute. He had fun bonding with other kids from Virginia and meeting dairy kids from other states in the area. This was his first year competing in the fit out and learned a lot from the experience.
2024 Virginia Spring Show
This year at Spring Show we had a successful showing. Trey placed 1st in intermediate showmanship. Some of our highlights from the show include: 1st place Unfresh Jr. 2 (a sidekick due in June), 3rd and 4th place Winter Calves, 4th place Fall Calf (a November Tango x Susie Q), 2nd and 3rd place Winter Yearlings, 2nd and 3rd place Summer Yearlings
2024 SDSU Dairy Club
Hayley has had an amazing year in the SDSU Dairy Club. She has taken on leadership roles as Treasurer and on the Dairy Camp Committee. She has had fun participating in activities such as Dairy Drive Football Game, Dairy Camp, Cheeseboxes, and Central Plains Dairy Expo.
2024 SDSU Little International
Hayley has had a blast in her first year participating in the 101st Little International. She was on the Milk Quality and Products Contest Committee to help run that FFA contest. Hayley also showed a dairy calf, named Lyla, and placed 3rd in fitting and 5th in showmanship.
2024 NC All Breeds Spring Show
We had a great time in Winston-Salem, NC for their All Breeds Spring Show. Trey had Youth Grand Champion Brown Swiss with Twist and Reserve Youth Junior Champion with Twizzler. He also placed 2nd with Rihanna and Ribbon, and Jeremy placed 6th with Remember. Trey also placed 3rd in Junior Showmanship.
